  • Veronika Burger, Nora Jacobs and Nicole Sabella met while studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna and collaborate since 2013. They concentrate on a post feminist analysis of female characters in horror movies. Horror movie characters – like the “final girl” – are transferred from screen onto stage while maintaining an atmosphere of uncanniness.

They started their research during the ImPulsTanz festival residency in 2013 in Vienna. Since then they showed their work at various festivals and exhibitions: Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space 2015; Freshly Scratched Festival at Battersea Arts Centre, London; Ve.Sch – Project space or Lenikus Studios in Vienna.

Currently they are working on a research project called “among the lost things” which deals with on-site fabricated prostheses, as well as ideas of “cinesexuality” and “mucosal spectatorship”.
Their take on film is performative and therefore a physical one in regard to texture, light and shadow. The idea is to challenge the spectators’ perspective by changing the relationship between bodies, things, spaces, media, live situations and film projections.

Furthermore they are exploring methods of collaboration, which gives them the opportunity to expand their vision in a constant dialogue.
In their collaboration they prefer a space-related site-specific working method.
